Overview
To provide the highest standard of care and support to our clients to enhance their wellbeing and to promote independence.
Responsibilities
- Your care duties for each individual client will be clearly stated in their Care Plan and may vary depending on the client’s needs, time of day of the visit, etc. Adapt to other care duties as required.
- Assist our clients who need help with getting in and out of bed, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and personal care needs.
- Help clients who have mobility and moving & handling needs.
- Care for clients who are temporarily sick and may need assistance with minor dressings, bed nursing, help with feeding, personal care, etc.
- Help care for end of life clients.
- Promote mental and physical well being of clients through talking, activities, and engagement (reading, writing, hobbies, recreations).
- Undertake light household tasks such as making and changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning (dusting, vacuuming) and emptying commodes.
- Assist with washing clothes and ironing if requested.
- Prepare and serve meals; assist clients with eating and drinking; wash up, tidy and clean the kitchen and dining area.
- Greet clients’ friends and family and answer the telephone as needed while at the client’s home.
- Read and write reports, and take part in staff and clients meetings and training activities as directed.
- Maintain the highest standards of hygiene at all times and use personal protective equipment provided. Report any illness to the office so infection prevention and control procedures can be followed.
- Comply with Radfield Home Care’s guidelines and policies at all times.
- Report to the office any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a client.
- Encourage clients to remain as independent as possible.
- Report any events or situations that may pose a risk to clients, relatives or staff (e.g., faulty equipment or a broken step).
- Help promote Radfield Home Care through marketing activities which may include leafleting and protecting the company’s reputation.
- Come into the office at least once a week to collect/bring in client paperwork and to collect your rota and client information.
- Perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.
- Work shifts on at least alternate weekends.
