A healthcare organization in Berwick-upon-Tweed is seeking a qualified Healthcare Assistant to support their General Practice. The successful candidate will perform vital tasks like venipuncture, blood pressure monitoring, and injections. Flexibility is essential as the position covers long-term sickness and holiday cover during practice hours. We are looking for a qualified healthcare assistant with experience of working in General Practice, who is caring and compassionate and works well as part of a team. The contract is initially on temporary basis covering long term sickness so flexibility is key.
Our healthcare assistants are part of a larger team and should be able to competently perform venipuncture, blood pressure monitoring, general observations, injections such as B12 and influenza along with chaperoning when required.
Well Close Medical Group is one of two practices who formed Lindisfarne Health. We have a patient list size of approx 9500 patients and are due to relocate into the New Hospital in Berwick once complete.
As a Healthcare assistant, you must be competent in the following:
The role is initially to cover long term sickness and any holiday cover. The successful candidate must be flexible to cover clinics during practice hours. Clinics run between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Hours per week may vary and are negotiable with the managing partner.
There may be opportunity to work part of our enhanced service currently on Thursday evenings until 8pm and Saturday mornings 9am - 12noon.
