Overview

We are seeking to appoint Health and Welfare Support Assistants (HWSA) with the capacity to support the health and welfare needs of all pupils at Ivy House School.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide a range of support across the school, predominantly administering enteral feeding and medication, but also supporting personal, intimate care, physical therapies and classroom support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely administer enteral feeding and medication to pupils.
  • Provide personal and intimate care as required.
  • Support physical therapy activities such as rebound and hydrotherapy.
  • Assist with classroom support to enable pupils to learn.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, carers and health professionals.
  • Maintain pupil safety, comfort and readiness to learn.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven track record of working successfully with vulnerable children and/or adults in an education, health or care setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of enteral feeding and related clinical competencies, or willingness to complete training and competency assessments.

Employment Details

Working hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year plus 5 days Inset.

Contract type: Fixed term until July 2026, with the potential for extension.

Salary: £24,796 – £25,186 per annum.
