The Vacancy

6 month fixed-term maternity cover

Due to maternity leave, we are recruiting for a Health and Safety Officer at Greatwell Homes. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Asset Compliance and H&S team within Greatwell Homes.

What you’ll be doing
  • Advise senior managers, managers and employees on health and safety legislative requirements, changes in legislation, safe working practices and proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Provide support to deliver and maintain H&S compliance whilst engaging, motivating staff to develop a positive, well-informed health and safety culture.
  • To support the Asset Compliance Team in the central delivery of Health and Safety, performance monitoring and compliance, including collation of timely and accurate statistical information for Health & Safety management and to evidence compliance within auditing.
  • Provide support to the Health, Safety & Compliance Manager to ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
About you
  • NEBOSH General certificate or equivalent such NVQ L3 in Occupational Health and Safety as a minimum.
  • Experience of working in property service, housing maintenance, construction, or facilities
  • Be able to work as a Team player to support our colleagues and contractors in getting key safety messages out in a supportive and engaging way.
  • Must be comfortable in undertaking inspections on site including being able to work at height to inspect works.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft and Excel skills with the ability to present information in forms, tables & spreadsheets.
  • Understanding and commitment to equality and diversity. Health and safety and data protection polices and legislation applicable to the role.
