Job summary

A leading health and safety consultancy is seeking a Health and Safety Co-ordinator to manage day-to-day health and safety operations within a factory. The role includes coordinating compliance, delivering training, and overseeing safety checks and audits. Ideal candidates will hold a NEBOSH certificate and have experience in health and safety roles, ideally within the food industry. This position offers a salary range of £40,000 - £45,000 and is located in NW London.

Qualifications

  • Health and safety experience in the food industry is preferable.
  • Must have baseline health and safety certification.
  • Ability to undertake accident investigations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day Health and Safety Management.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and safety checks.
  • Deliver on-site Health and Safety Training.
  • Manage the Legionella Management System.
  • Assist with risk assessment and control measures.
  • Conduct audits for compliance and housekeeping.
  • Manage contractor permits and safety compliance.

Health and Safety Co-ordinator

Main Scope and Purpose of the Position

Coordinating and completing the day-to-day Health and Safety Management within the factory.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support with ISO45001 Compliance
  • Ensure scheduled maintenance / Safety checks, General DIY and tests are completed. (FLT, Pallet trucks, Compactor, bailers, ovens, lifts, hoists, IPAF scissor lift, LEV, suppression systems, A/C, Security, CCTV, E/Light testing, P1 Fire Alarm System, Bell Testing, Machine safety, Boilers, Refrigeration/ Chilling,)
  • Delivering on-site Health and Safety Training (E learning, Induction, COSHH, PPE)
  • Legionella Management System (domestic water checks/flushing/ sampling)
  • Assist with the implementation of risk assessment and control measures and consider how risks can be reduced
  • Control, Audit general areas (housekeeping, compliance, safety Control & waste collections).
  • Undertaking of Accident Investigations to assist the client as required (RIDDOR)
  • Contractor management of Permit to work scheme (Hot Work Permits)
  • Completion of reasonable administration and Business Development duties (Maintenance forms, Service reports, Visitors)
  • Keeping up to date with new Legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that may affect the business
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
  • A current baseline health and safety certificate (NEBOSH Certificate)
  • Experience in a similar role (ideally in the food industry).
  • Hold current Training Certificates (First Aid, Fire Marshall, IPAF, Food Safety)
  • Experience of working within a budget, (prioritising)
