Job description

Location: Sizewell C / Leiston, Suffolk (5 days a week onsite). Contract: Permanent, Full‑Time. Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 (dependent on experience).

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor with a strong background in construction to support the safe and efficient delivery of key projects at Sizewell C. You'll provide expert health and safety advice across a wide range of site operations including infrastructure, facilities management, logistics, waste, fuel, accommodation, catering, health, and security. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering Leads, and Tier 1 Contractors, you'll ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements, particularly under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with construction leaders to embed safety into every phase of the project.
  • Provide expert guidance on legislative and site‑specific safety standards.
  • Drive a proactive approach to risk mitigation in high‑pressure environments.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM and all other relevant H&S Regulations across all contractors.
  • Promote health, safety, and wellbeing throughout all project stages.
What You'll Bring
  • Broad experience in Health & Safety standards within construction (including CDM Regulation experience).
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification – Level 6 Diploma or equivalent.
  • IOSH Membership.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Proven track record in leading investigations and delivering safety improvements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Passion for continuous improvement in health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Desirable: Degree in Construction, NEBOSH Diploma, H&S NVQ/Diploma or Certificate in Environmental Studies, or a related field.
