Health and Safety Advisor

Forest of Dean

Permanent

Up to £44,000

Health and Safety Advisor required by leading manufacturing company, based in the Forest of Dean

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will create and implement policies and procedures and will ensure compliance with health and safety and environmental standards across the business.

Main Duties: Health and Safety Advisor
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify ways to reduce hazards.
  • Develop and implement safe operational procedures.
  • Lead root cause investigations for accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and ensure policies and procedures are effectively followed.
  • Develop and implement health and safety and environmental strategies and internal policies.
  • Deliver training sessions to managers and employees on safety and environmental issues.
  • Maintain HSE records, produce reports, and analyse safety statistics.
  • Carry out health and safety and environmental audits.
  • Perform COSHH risk assessments.
  • Stay up to date with current Health and Safety and environmental legislation.
  • Provide advice on fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, and machinery safeguarding.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Health and Safety Advisor
  • A background within a similar role, ideally gained within a manufacturing or engineering or equivalent environment.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent H&S qualifications.
  • Knowledge and experience of writing and reviewing risk and COSHH assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and safety and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to relate to people at all levels.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
