Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head Receptionist to join our teams at Putlands and Goudhurst. This is a full time position, working 40 hours per week across both sites.

Responsibilities
  • Lead reception teams to provide a friendly and efficient service to clients and their animals.
  • Perform receptionist duties such as answering phones, responding to emails, booking appointments, registering new clients, completing insurance forms, dispensing medications, taking payments, and providing a warm and welcoming experience to clients arriving at the clinic.
  • Handle additional administrative duties including debt management, banking, and end‑of‑month processes.
  • Manage the reception team, staff and holiday rotas, and recruitment.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • Experience managing teams (highly beneficial).
  • Previous receptionist or customer‑facing experience (essential).
  • Previous veterinary industry experience (highly beneficial).
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and show empathy in all situations.
Salary

£25,400 – £27,500 per year (pro rata, depending on experience).
