Head of SEO & AI - The Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of SEO & AI Search to lead and grow our SEO function.

This role is pivotal in owning client account delivery through the nurturing of our internal team.

The ideal Head of SEO & AI will have experience in managing people, working with systems and processes, and having a forward thinking approach to developing our AI Search proposition to keep the business at the forefront of search.

Head of SEO & AI - Key skills
  • Lead and mentor a team of SEO specialists, fostering their development and ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and build strategic roadmaps and SOWs.
  • Report on department performance to the Management Team, regarding utilisation, profitability, and client success/challenges.
  • Collaborate with SEO Director on site migrations, technical projects, and key account roadmaps/strategy.
  • Define and lead an AI Search proposition by developing new processes and deliverable workflows and templates for emerging areas of SEO such as AI Search / GEO / AIO.
  • Plan and conduct QBRs with all accounts.
  • Report into the MD on delivery performance on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Utilise AI to optimise existing manual processes and improve efficiencies in the business by always critiquing current ways of working for improvement.
  • Manage internal systems to ensure POLARIS continues to have the best tech stack for service provision.
  • Support new business onboarding and client retention by following company processes.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Proven experience in a senior SEO role within an independent agency setting, with experience of managing and nurturing direct reports.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to clients and stakeholders in a non-verbose way.
  • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Passionate about SEO, with a solid understanding across all 3 pillars and where AI Search is leading agencies and clients.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision making.
  • Experience managing large scale SEO campaigns, and working with B2B clients across Fintech, Services, and Technology.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • This is a hybrid role.
