Head of Retail - South of England

Discount Fashion Brand

Location: South of England (Regional role with regular travel)

Reporting to: Retail Director

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Head of Retail to lead and grow our store estate across the South of England. This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for sales performance, operational excellence, people development, and brand standards across a large, multi-site retail portfolio.

You will play a critical role in driving profitability in a high-volume, value‑led fashion environment, ensuring our stores deliver outstanding results while remaining true to our customer promise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a large regional retail management team
  • Own full regional P&L, delivering sales growth and cost control
  • Drive consistent execution of retail standards, VM, and operational processes
  • Translate company strategy into clear regional action plans
  • Maximise store performance through effective people planning, coaching, and succession
  • Partner closely with Buying, Merchandising, HR, and Supply Chain teams
  • Ensure excellent customer experience across all stores
  • Lead change initiatives and support new store openings and refits
  • Maintain strong compliance with all health, safety, and legal requirements
About You
  • Proven experience in a senior retail leadership role (Head of Retail / Regional Director / Senior Regional Manager)
  • Background in discount, value, or high-volume fashion retail (essential)
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving sales and margin
  • Confident people leader who builds high-performing teams
  • Hands‑on, pragmatic, and comfortable working at pace
  • Data‑driven, with the ability to turn insight into action
  • Flexible to travel extensively across the South of England
