The Role

As Head of Marketing at M&I, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of one of the most dynamic event portfolios in the global MICE sector. You’ll lead a talented team to deliver strategic, high‑impact marketing that drives measurable growth, lead generation, and brand visibility across our established and emerging markets, these latter include the Americas, the Middle East, and APAC.

This is a hands‑on, commercially focused role for an experienced Head of Marketing who can balance strategic thinking with operational excellence. You’ll be equally comfortable developing data‑driven performance campaigns as you are overseeing brand storytelling and event launches.

We’re looking for a confident, creative, and commercially astute leader, someone ready to take ownership of marketing performance today and to lead and develop a talented team.

You’ll report to our Director of Marketing, Worldwide Events.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives growth in target markets
  • Translate company‑wide commercial goals into measurable marketing plans with clear ROI metrics, supporting revenue generation and lead acquisition.
  • Partner closely with our commercial and operational teams to align marketing with pipeline objectives, event attendance targets, and brand positioning.
  • Identify and capitalise on new market opportunities, building brand presence and community engagement in new regions (Americas, Middle East, APAC).
  • Drive the successful launch and positioning strategy of new events (including M&I Expo) to establish strong market traction from day one.

Performance Marketing & Campaign Management

  • Lead on the design and execution of integrated campaigns across digital, email, social, paid media, sponsorships and partnerships to support commercial targets and new revenue streams.
  • Leverage analytics and insights to optimise performance marketing efforts, conversion rates, and cost efficiencies.
  • Oversee segmentation, audience profiling, and automation strategies to enhance lead quality and nurture engagement throughout the customer journey.

Brand & Creative Leadership

  • Champion the M&I brand, ensuring it reflects innovation, quality, and leadership within the global MICE community.
  • Oversee brand consistency and creative quality across all touchpoints, from campaigns and event collateral to digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Design, creative team and external agency resources to develop inspiring, differentiated brand storytelling that resonates globally.

Team & Budget Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing marketing team, fostering creativity, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Manage departmental budgets effectively, ensuring maximum ROI and operational efficiency.
  • Establish clear KPIs, performance dashboards, and reporting structures to measure impact and guide decision‑making.

Market Intelligence &

  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and maintain a leading edge.
  • Use insight‑led marketing to shape strategic decisions and strengthen our position in the global events landscape.

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing role, ideally within B2B events, travel, hospitality, or media. Previous experience as a Head of Department.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering growth‑focused and lead‑generating marketing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing, CRM, automation, and digital acquisition tactics.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to link marketing performance directly to business outcomes.
  • Excellent project management, budget management, and prioritisation skills.
  • Confident team leader with experience coaching and developing others.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with creative flair and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Industry knowledge of the global MICE, travel, and events landscape is a strong advantage.
