Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage the maintenance team in a 24-hour operation.
• Full budget responsibility for engineering activities.
• Promote Continuous Improvement across all areas of the business.
• Ensure proper administration of maintenance activities through CMMS.
• Lead in the development and training of engineering staff.
• Prioritize Health & Safety compliance across the team.

Are you the type of Engineering Manager who loves overseeing a high volume and fast paced manufacturing facility and who enjoys the full accountability for all engineering related activity for the site?

I am currently working with a global manufacturing company who are going through a period of modernisation and growth. With a clear goal they are following a comprehensive and continuous program to update and expand their equipment and facilities whilst maintaining high levels of production and are looking for a Head of Engineering who is motivational and driven to help them achieve the wider business goals

Reporting to the COO they are looking for an experienced person to take on the Head of Engineering role, someone who has a hands on approach to management and who is keen to get their boots on the ground, Engineer first and Manager second

What you will be doing:

• Responsibility for managing the maintenance team including supervisors over a 24hr operation with 15 total reporting heads
• You will have full budget responsibility for all of the site engineering activities, supporting where needed the newly appointed CAPEX Project Manager
• Be a champion for Continuous Improvement in any area for the betterment of the business whether it be people, process or machinery etc
• Ensure that the CMMS system is fully utilised and all maintenance activities are administered correctly
• Ensuring all external agencies instructions are adhered to from Audits or suppliers etc
• Be a cultural leader of engineering excellence and improvement
• Identify and lead in the development and training of your team
• Be strategic in planning and decision making
• Ensuring Health & Safety is a priority across the team and ensuring any implementation of new processes and policies are adhered to

Skills Experience:

• It’s likely that you will have qualifications within an engineering discipline Mechanical or Electrical
• A proven track record in Engineering Leadership in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Be an Engineer in every sense of the word, being able to utilise experience gained and to be a problem solver and mentor
• Extensive experience with Maintenance of production and other machinery
