Job description
ABOUT US

Ministry of Sound opened in 1991 in a disused bus garage in a forgotten corner of South London. It was the first nightclub in the UK to have a 24-hour licence, didn’t serve alcohol and featured an earth-shaking sound system in a specially constructed dance box.

We went on to become the world’s largest independent record company (now owned by Sony) and stage giant dance events, including one for 50,000 people on Millennium eve at the O2. We were pioneers in electronic music and have a history of taking risks, innovation, and colourful and creative marketing.

Thirty years later we opened The Ministry, a workspace run as a member’s club, in a 50,000 sq. ft Victorian warehouse in SE1. The design is relaxed but functional with a bar, opening windows, an outside courtyard and plenty of space to sit, relax, work and socialise – everything you wouldn’t expect to find in a standard office. There’s great home cooked F&B, a state-of-the‑art gym and fitness studio with daily classes, together with a cultural and business events programme.

As a business we don’t take ourselves too seriously, like to laugh and have fun, but we have high standards, a relentless attention to detail and the continuous improvement of our product, and we work hard as a team. We hate cliché, doing things the way others do and continuously seek to differentiate our brands and products almost as a point of pride.

THE ROLE

The Head of Brand Partnerships is responsible for shaping and leading the creative development of brand collaborations across the Ministry of Sound ecosystem. You will generate innovative partnership concepts, create inspiring briefs, and guide partners and agencies through the creative process to deliver campaigns that enhance our brand and connect with new audiences.

This role requires a creative thinker with strong cultural intuition, deep understanding of youth culture, music, nightlife, fitness and lifestyle sectors, and the ability to translate brand values into world‑class collaborative ideas.

Creative Strategy & Leadership

You will lead the creative vision for Ministry of Sound’s brand partnerships across music, nightlife, fitness, live events, hospitality, and lifestyle products. You’ll develop culturally relevant partnership concepts grounded in insight, audience behaviour and emerging trends. You’ll craft and articulate strong creative briefs that inspire internal teams, agencies, and brand partners. With experience translating brand goals into clear, impactful creative and campaign ideas, you will champion innovation and originality—ensuring every collaboration strengthens Ministry of Sound’s cultural relevance.

Commercial & Data

You will work closely with external agencies to define deliverables and pricing structures for brand partners. You will manage the brand partnership budget end‑to‑end—tracking performance, reporting to stakeholders, and setting, monitoring and evaluating KPIs. You will ensure all campaigns are delivered efficiently, maximise profitability, and maintain strong margin protection.

Account Management

You will oversee all contract obligations and deliverables, ensuring standards and KPIs are consistently met. You’ll collaborate with agencies on renewals, tenders and long‑term growth opportunities. You will build strong relationships with brand partners, identifying ways to extract additional value for both sides throughout the contract term.

Creative Development & Ideation

You will respond to brand and agency briefs with speed and clarity, delivering high‑quality creative thinking. You’ll develop pitch narratives, concept decks, and creative proposals that bring ideas to life. You will lead ideation sessions, workshops, and brainstorms to explore new partnership directions and opportunities. You will manage external agencies, providing clear, inspiring briefs aligned with partnership and brand objectives.

Partnership Shaping & Delivery

You will guide partners through the entire creative development journey, from initial concept to final execution. Working closely with events, creative, marketing, product, and digital teams, you will maintain creative integrity across all activations. You will ensure every output reflects Ministry of Sound’s tone, aesthetic and brand values. You should have experience nurturing long‑term partner relationships, continually developing ideas that evolve and expand collaborations.

Skills & Experience Required

You will be able to demonstrate experience developing creative brand partnerships or campaign concepts within music, entertainment, culture, or lifestyle sectors. Having the strong ability to generate ideas quickly and articulate them clearly through decks, briefs, and presentations will be key. You will possess excellent storytelling, communication, and conceptual writing skills, and must have a strong understanding of youth culture, nightlife, music, fitness, and cultural trends. You will be highly collaborative, able to work closely with internal creative and operational teams and passionate about culturally‑led ideas, experiences, and brand innovation.
