Job description

Rooney Earthmoving Ltd is one of New Zealand’s leading privately owned civil contractors, specializing in earthworks and irrigation projects. The organization employs over 220 staff and operates a significant fleet of heavy machinery in the central South Island.

Rooney Earthmoving Ltd has a program of lining ponds in the South Canterbury region and is seeking a skilled welder to join its existing lining team. The ideal candidates for this role will have:

1. 8-10 years of HDPE liner placement experience.
2. A proven history of supervising and training staff.
3. Experience with the construction of water storage pond projects.
4. Good knowledge of quality control standards used for liner installation.
5. Qualifications in various welding techniques used to join HDPE.

The position is based at the work site and reports to a Project Manager through the Timaru office. This is a permanent role.
