Job description

Applications are invited to join us in developing our service for our patients in West Wales. We are looking for a highly committed and motivated individual to join our Haematology team as we start to introduce subspecialisation into the health board. Our dedicated and forward-looking team of 7 consultants provide a comprehensive haematology service in the four hospitals in an area of outstanding beauty. This post will introduce a Myeloma subspecialty to our team as part of a redesign of haematology services across the Health Board and will continue to develop as part of the wider transformation process. Support for the post includes Associate Specialists, specialty doctors, clinical fellow as well as foundation trainees. The team also includes haematology CNS team and Specialist pharmacists. Our vision is to provide a future proofed service for our patients to ensure they can be cared for as close to their home as possible. Our staff are at the heart of the quality of our service and are looking to add to our numbers. We are looking for someone to bring additional expertise and a passion to provide excellence.

Responsibilities
  • The appointee is required to be GMC registered on the specialist register or be expected to obtain CCT within 6 months.
  • The appointee will contribute to all aspects of the general haematology and haemo-oncology work including participation in departmental meetings and on-call rota.
  • 10 Sessions with 2xSPA per week.
  • Clinics in other hospital sites will be required (virtual clinics are an option).
  • The appointee must be someone who can help develop our rural service to ensure excellent patient care.
