Job summary

A leading firm in the industry is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to ensure compliance on construction sites. Candidates should have a strong background in Manufacturing and/or Construction, with essential skills in risk assessments and compliance with key health and safety regulations. The role offers a competitive rate of £40ph, outside IR35, with a contract length of 12 weeks, starting ASAP. Potential for overtime is also available, making this an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Candidates must come from a Manufacturing or Construction background.
• Experience in conducting gap analyses and implementing improvements.
• Understanding of key regulations including COSHH, PUWER, ATEX, LOLER, and DSEAR.

Responsibilities

• Creation of risk assessments and method statements.
• Management of compliance towards H&S on the construction site.
• Conduct fire and risk assessments.

Shifts :

Monday Friday 40 hours with potential for overtime

The Ideal candidate for this Health & Safety Officer role will have a background in Manufacturing and / or Construction projects. CDM background is essential.

Health & Safety Officer role & responsibilities :

• Permits to work
• Creation of risk assessments and method statements
• Management of compliance towards H&S on the construction site
• Completion of all H&S documentation
• Toolbox talks
• The Health & Safety Manager will oversee day-to-day H&S operations
• Maintain and improve H&S management systems (CDM background beneficial)
• Ensure compliance with key regulations including COSHH, PUWER, ATEX, LOLER, and DSEAR
• Conduct gap analyses, implement improvements
• Fire and risk assessments; building safety
• Engaging stakeholders across construction site

Health & Safety Officer Experience :

• First aid trained
• CDM understanding is key
• Candidates must come from Manufacturing / construction background
• NEBOSH general
• Strong auditing experience to ISO standards
