A financial services recruitment firm is seeking a Group Risk Officer to lead the global risk and governance teams within a fast-growing company headquartered in the Channel Islands. The ideal candidate should have a solid grounding in financial services governance and risk assessment, alongside experience in regulated markets. This senior position requires strong leadership and a legal background, with responsibilities including chairing the risk committee and maintaining compliance and governance policies.
AP Executive are working exclusively to find a senior industry leader to take on the role of Group Risk Officer. Our client is a fast growing financial services company with representation in multiple jurisdictions. The group is head-quartered in the Channel Islands. This role is a very senior role requiring someone with a solid understanding of how financial services offerings are governed and risk-assessed in a number of regulated offshore and onshore locations.
A significant part of the role will be formulating and maintaining resilience in legal, compliance, regulatory, data protection, insurance and governance in regulated areas where the group operates.
Strong leadership will be expected of the groups global risk and governance teams. The role-holder will be a significant member of the senior board's ExCo and will chair the group's risk committee. Ensuring the group operates with comprehensive suitable policies that are maintained and understood at all times.
Up to date awareness of the legal and regulatory requirements of the markets and sectors in which the Group operates is a mandatory requirement.
Applicants should ideally be based in or have a working history with financial services such as the private wealth, fund administration and private capital offerings in regulated offshore centres. The ideal candidate will probably have a legal background working in multinational financial services at some point at senior counsel level and above.
