Location: Dummer, Basingstoke
We are looking for a Group IT Infrastructure Manager to come on board and join our team in Dummer, Basingstoke. We are looking for someone to lead, manage and oversee the internal IT Infrastructure operations across SCG, ensuring that systems and services remain secure, available and performant.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing and being accountable for all infrastructure systems including cloud service management, datacentre management, and email system management.
- Ensuring availability and capacity monitoring processes are effective and alerts are appropriately responded to.
- Managing and maintaining backup and recovery operations.
- Overseeing infrastructure maintenance, system upgrades, and migrations.
- Ensuring infrastructure endpoint protection and patch management are maintained.
- Monitoring and ensuring infrastructure performance meets business requirements.
- Leading the technical resolution of major service outages (MSOs) and ensuring appropriate escalation.
- Communicating with the business during major incidents.
- Overseeing change request authoring and approval processes.
- Chairing or participating in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to approve infrastructure changes.
- Managing ticket workload and priorities within the infrastructure team.
- Maintaining relationships with IT vendors and suppliers.
- Providing accountability for infrastructure documentation, ensuring systems and services are properly documented.
- Ensuring IT assets within the infrastructure domain are managed according to defined processes.
- Defining and managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) services configuration.
- Contributing to SLA definition and ensuring service levels are achieved.
- Ensuring network security through proper management of firewalls and security appliances.
- Supporting security incident response activities and security alert handling.
- Consulting on endpoint protection policies and EUC patch management.
Skills Required
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to delegate work effectively and hold team members accountable.
- A comprehensive understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, including datacentres, cloud services, network architecture, and email systems.
- Expertise in IT service management principles, including SLA management, change management, and incident management.
- Strong understanding of information security principles and compliance requirements (ISO27001, Cyber Essentials).
- Experience with vendor and supplier relationship management.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical matters during major incidents.
- Financial awareness, including experience with IT purchasing and budget considerations.
- Strategic thinking capabilities for capacity planning and network architecture decisions.
