Job summary

A well-established multi-entity organization in Hampshire is seeking an experienced Financial Controller. In this hands-on leadership role, you will manage a finance team to ensure month-end close and produce financial reports. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with robust team management experience, multi-entity reporting proficiency, and solid knowledge of UK accounting standards. This role values excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team towards success.

Qualifications

Overview

Group Financial Controller - Hampshire

Huntress is partnering with a well-established multi-entity organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for management of a sizeable finance team to ensure month-end close and management reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership and development of a finance team of circa 10
  • Ownership of month-end close, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Production of monthly management and financial reporting with analysis
  • Oversight of transactional finance, including AP, AR, payroll, VAT, CIS and intercompany
  • Cash flow forecasting and daily cash management
  • Systems management and improvement
  • Oversee Payroll
Qualifications

You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience as a Financial Controller, with excellent team management skills and thrives on seeing a team succeed together. Proven in multi-entity reporting and audit experience, solid knowledge of UK accounting standards (FRS 102) tax compliance, and Payroll are essential for this role as are Advanced Excel skills. Your interpersonal skills will mean you have the ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
