A leading organization supporting dementia in Merthyr Tydfil is looking for a Group Facilitator Volunteer. In this role, you will coordinate activities, welcome participants, and keep records. Ideal candidates have strong communication skills and empathy towards those affected by dementia. This volunteer opportunity occurs weekly, providing meaningful engagement for both participants and volunteers.
About The Role

Our groups provide a welcoming and supportive space for people affected by dementia to engage in activities, socialise with others and get support and information.
As a Group Facilitator Volunteer, you’ll provide key support with the administration and running of the group, by coordinating and facilitating activities, welcoming people to the group and keeping records of those attending. You’ll also support with the set-up and tidying away after the group, as well as providing encouragement to people attending to participate in the activities on offer. As well as carrying out the role as part of a team, there may be opportunities to facilitate these group sessions unsupervised, should the need arise. Some knowledge of bowling would be an advantage as would good organisational skills.
This role will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal Records Check from either the Disclosure and Barring Service (England & Wales), Disclosure Scotland Check (Scotland) or AccessNI (Northern Ireland). This group meets on Wednesdays 10.30-13.30 (a little extra time for planning will be required). Merthyr Indoor Bowling Centre, Rhydycar Leisure Village, Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 1UT
