Grounds Maintenance Operative

Location: Maidstone

Salary: Above Real Living Wage

Contract Type: Flexible with consistent full time availability

Typical Hours: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday

We're looking for an experienced and driven Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to support the Contract Manager in overseeing grounds and tree maintenance operations. You’ll lead field teams on the ground ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

What you’ll be responsible for:
  • Supervise and coordinate field teams across multiple sites ensuring all tasks meet contract and client specifications
  • Monitor the quality of grounds and tree works daily resolving on‑site issues promptly
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety standards including RAMS permits and site documentation
  • Plan and oversee scheduled maintenance and extra works adapting to changing priorities
  • Operate and maintain tools and machinery safely and effectively carrying out small reactive works where needed
  • Provide training guidance and performance feedback to field teams
  • Ensure full compliance with company procedures policies and branding standards
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and assist with performance reporting
  • Attend client meetings where required supporting strong positive relationships
  • Identify and help deliver additional works or service improvements
What you’ll bring:
  • Proven experience in grounds maintenance landscaping or horticulture
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing field teams
  • Excellent organisational problem‑solving and communication abilities
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and environmental best practices
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
Desirable:
  • PA1 / PA6 qualifications
  • CSCS Card and/or EUSR Water Hygiene certification
  • Experience working within utilities or large‑scale contracts
