An exciting opportunity has become available to join our dynamic and energetic service as Team Manager of Oxleas CAMHS Mental Health Support Team (MHST) within the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting National initiative, working in collaboration with education settings, to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in response to the government's Green Paper: Transforming children and young people's mental health provision.

Main duties of the job

As Team Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective day to day delivery of the service within Greenwich, supporting the teams to provide a high quality, safe and responsive mental health and wellbeing service to children, young people and families within a number of local primary and secondary education settings.

You will work in close partnership with education colleagues, local authority and partner agencies and will develop strong working relationships with senior clinical, professional and managerial leads within Oxleas CAMHS and the wider Trust.

The service will be undergoing further expansion in line with National MHST targets and priorities, with the Team Manager leading the teams through this change to achieve the ambitious goals and continuing to improve the MHST service.

Job responsibilities

Experience of managing staff, leading a team/service and change management are essential for this role. You will need to have excellent leadership, communication and management skills with a passion for early intervention mental health support for children, young people and families.

Qualifications
  • Relevant professional qualification: e.g. RMN, CQSW/DIPSW, SROT, MRC Psych, Chartered Psychologist, Systemic Psychotherapist
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience.
  • Management qualification or suitable training and evidence of willingness to undertake further training.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience of managing within a multi- professional, multi-agency child mental health environment.
  • Experience of service development and change management
Skills
  • Strong leadership and management capacity obtained within a complex child multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Ability to manage group dynamics, conflict and work with diversity.
  • Understanding of finance and budget management and ability to contribute to budget planning.
