Graphic Designer at Signs Express Basildon & Southend

We are looking for a skilled and creative Graphic Designer to join our friendly, professional team at Signs Express (Basildon & Southend) to help us create a wide and exciting range of signage solutions.

The perfect candidate will have a positive, can‑do attitude, be able to maintain our high standards of workmanship and quality, be creative, have an excellent eye for detail and be a self‑motivated individual. This is a hands‑on role at Signs Express Basildon where you will be working on‑site only.

Location: Signs Express (Basildon & Southend), Unit 20 Yardley Business Park, Luckyn Lane, Basildon, SS14 3GL

Salary: £26,000 to £28,000

Working Hours: Full‑time position, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm

Travel: A full, clean driving licence and own transport is essential for local travel.

About The Role

The role will include involvement in all design aspects of our signage projects, including liaising with clients over initial briefs, design creatives, specification and preparation of artwork, assisting in the quotation process, through to preparation and production of graphics.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is experienced in Photoshop & Adobe design packages, who would like to further their career in this creative field.

Successful candidates will be responsible for designing the bespoke signage and vehicle graphics required by our customers with the ability to show draft sketches and outlines to demonstrate their design concepts.

Collaborative work with clients, delivering excellent customer service at all times.

Keeping to budgets and time limits for each project.

What We Need From You

• Previous experience in a Design role.
• Strong sense of creativity and imagination.
• Experience with computer design packages such as Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator.
• A methodical approach to work and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent time management.
• Ability to keep to budgets and time limits for each project.
• Excellent communication skills, spelling and grammar.
• Confidence in working with the Microsoft operating system.
• Experience within the graphics and signage industry would be advantageous.
• Layout and typographical skills and knowledge of fonts.
• Collaborative skills to work closely with account managers as well as clients, delivering excellent customer service at all times.
• Self‑motivation and the ability to work on multiple projects at once in a fast‑paced environment.
• Problem‑solving skills and the ability to know when to ask for help.
