About the Role

Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant (Intervention Support)

Start Date: September

Location: Newham, East London

Hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday)

Contract: Term-time only (until July 2026, with potential to extend or train)

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 with literacy and numeracy interventions
  • Working 1:1 or with small groups of children who need additional support
  • Assisting class teachers with planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Ideal Candidate
  • A graduate with a strong academic background (2:2 or above)
  • Previous paid or voluntary experience working with children (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work, classroom support)
  • Passionate about pursuing a career in teaching or education
  • Confident, patient, and able to build positive relationships with children and staff
