Overview

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Do you want hands-on primary experience before applying for teacher training?

Could you deliver focused 1:1 and small-group interventions that lift progress across KS1 and KS2?

The Role

Work with class teachers to run short, targeted interventions in reading, writing and maths. Provide 1:1 support, guide small groups, prep simple resources and note impact so next steps are clear. Reinforce routines, encourage positive behaviour and help pupils build confidence and independence.

The Candidate

You’re a graduate who communicates clearly, stays organised and engages pupils with concise explanations and well-structured tasks. You follow guidance, use initiative and keep sessions purposeful and calm.

Requirements
  • Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – Strong interest in primary education and pupil progress.
  • Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
