Contract: Day-to-day and long term available

Start Date: As soon as you’re ready

Protocol Education are recruiting passionate Graduates and Students of varying university degrees - particularly Psychology - who want to make a real impact to students in secondary schools near you across South Bristol and North Somerset. This is a fantastic opportunity to build well-regarded skills that make you stand out in the job market, gain confidence and professionalism, and network within the education sector to springboard into a future career in education, psychology, or social care. We offer roles in convenient locations near you that are flexible to your availability, whether you want to work 2 days or 5. You’ll get the freedom to choose your days, the chance to build positive relationships with different schools, and competitive pay every week. Long-term opportunities are also available if you want consistency and routine.

As a Teaching Assistant (TA) or a Learning Support Assistant you’ll work closely with teachers to support young people in their learning, behaviour, and personal development. The role is varied: you might be helping a student one to one, supporting small groups, or assisting the whole class. Every day brings a new challenge and the chance to make a genuine difference.

This role is ideal for graduates who are looking for flexible, practical classroom experience before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, or other child-focused careers.

Protocol Education also offers tailored CPD training, such as Thrive, through our CPD Academy - an excellent way to build your skills and add a standout addition to your CV.

  • Reporting progress and safeguarding concerns with professionalism and accuracy

What we’re looking for
  • Psychology graduates or students with a passion for working with young people

  • A calm, encouraging nature and the resilience to manage students with a calm, warm demeanour

  • Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a sense of humour (a classroom essential!)

  • No prior school experience needed; just the drive to make a difference

  • Work with children and teens is ideal, but not an essential for a driven candidate wanting to begin their career in education

  • Competitive rates of pay through PAYE (no umbrella hidden costs)

  • Guaranteed work agreements available for consistent income
