Overview

Graduate Structural Analysis Engineer – Metal Fabrication (Aluminium). Location: Stockport. Sector: Advanced Engineering / Defence. Employment Type: Full-time. Salary: Up to £55,000 + Benefits.

We’re partnering with a leading engineering business at the forefront of precision metal fabrication. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate engineer with prior employment experience in a manufacturing environment, who is ready to apply and develop their skills in structural design and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and development of lightweight aluminium fabrications.
  • Assist with Linear and Non-Linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Use ANSYS to run simulations, validate models, and provide insights to design/manufacturing teams.
  • Work to Eurocode standards in analysis and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to ensure manufacturability and integrity of designs.
  • Contribute to process improvements in analysis and validation.
Key Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace Engineering (or related).
  • Employment experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Exposure to FEA (Linear and Non-Linear), ideally with ANSYS.
  • Understanding of Eurocode standards.
  • Strong interest in metal fabrication, particularly aluminium.
Desirable Experience
  • Knowledge of weld design, fastening methods, or fatigue analysis.
  • Familiarity with buckling or large deformation simulations.
  • Experience in defence, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing environments.
