Graduate SEND Support Assistant

Just finished your degree and wondering what’s next? If you’re curious about education, psychology, social care, or SEND, this could be a brilliant first step.

We’re working with welcoming schools across Newcastle who are looking for Graduate SEND Support Assistants to support pupils with additional needs. You don’t need classroom experience, just patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping young people thrive.

What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups with SEND, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH
  • Helping children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to keep days calm and consistent
  • Gaining hands‑on experience that looks great on future PGCE, psychology, or therapy applications
This role could be perfect if you are
  • A psychology, education, sociology, or health graduate

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
