Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

Newcastle Specialist School – £500–£550 per week – Full-Time

Are you a psychology graduate (or similar) with a strong interest in SEN and inclusive education? Would you like to gain hands‑on experience supporting children with complex learning and additional needs? Are you considering a future career in SEN teaching, Educational Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, or mental health support?

The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals, you will provide 1:1 and small‑group support, help pupils regulate emotions, and assist them in accessing learning in a way that meets their individual needs.

You will play a key role in implementing behaviour support plans, delivering targeted interventions, and creating a safe, structured environment where pupils can develop both academically and emotionally.

This role is particularly well suited to graduates considering long‑term careers in psychology, therapy, or specialist education, offering first‑hand experience of inclusive and therapeutic practice.
