Overview

Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistant – Manchester (September 2025 Start). Location: Specialist schools across Manchester. Contract Type: Long-term, short-term and flexible roles available. Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience.

Specialist schools across Manchester are seeking Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistants to support students academically and emotionally, helping them overcome barriers and thrive in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support students with SEMH needs in both group settings and on a 1:1 basis
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning programmes and emotional regulation strategies
  • Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and self-esteem
  • Help create an inclusive, safe, and nurturing learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to ensure every child is supported
What We're Looking For
  • A recent UK Psychology graduate (or related field)
  • Experience working with children/young people with SEMH needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Passionate about education and making a difference
  • Able to commit to a role from September 2025
  • A DBS registered to the Update Service
  • Able to provide references covering the last 2 years
