We're looking for a Hardware Specialist to join our awesome team.

You will join our R&D team in London, maintaining and improving hardware for our novel bioreactor systems. Your collaborative spirit and love of all things mechanical will make you an essential member of our hardware team. Working alongside brilliant bioprocess engineers, biologists and mathematicians, you will be the go‑to person for mechanical repair, improvement and fabrication in our workshop and pilot facility.

What you’ll do:

  • Take ownership of maintaining and enhancing the mechanical performance of our cutting‑edge bioreactor systems
  • Collaborate closely with the Bioprocessing team to spot bottlenecks and engineer smart, efficient solutions
  • Play a key role in keeping our facility running smoothly through hands‑on support and continuous improvements
  • Contribute your mechanical insight to help shape the next generation of bioprocessing technology

What we’re looking for:

  • An undergraduate degree, Level 3 NVQ, or equivalent industry experience in mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • A hands‑on problem solver who enjoys practical work and getting things done
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for learning and technical excellence

Bonus points for experience with:

  • 3D printing and rapid prototyping
  • General workshop tools and equipment (hand tools, manual milling, CNC routing, etc.)
  • Continuous improvement of hardware systems or manufacturing processes
  • Using multimeters or performing electronic fault‑finding
