Job Title: Graduate Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant

Salary: £26,000 - £27,000

This is an excellent opportunity to join my client, an innovative, eco‑conscious Multidisciplinary Company, renowned for lending their expertise to the transport, infrastructure, and environmental landscapes. They are currently searching for a driven, talented Graduate Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant who is willing to take on a variety of projects alongside an established team of professionals, based near the vibrant, modern market town of Basingstoke.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to projects across the public and private sectors, including residential, commercial, and retail developments, as well as renewable energy projects
• Producing technical documents, conducting Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and Flood Estimation Reports
• Creating Drainage Strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
• Using software such as MicroDrainage and AutoCAD to produce technical work

Required skills and experience

• A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Geography or Environmental Science (or a similar, relevant discipline)
• Good knowledge of Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, and Drainage Design
• Proficient in the use of MicroDrainage and AutoCAD (as well as similar software systems)
• Basic knowledge of Hydraulic Modelling
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Good literacy and numeracy skills, particularly when applied to report writing
• A genuine interest in flood risk and drainage, and their importance in environmental and engineering projects

Desirable skills and experience

• Hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence
• A keen interest in climate change and its effects on water‑based environments
