Job summary

A UK utilities contractor is seeking a Graduate Designer to work on the clean water AMP8 programme. Key responsibilities include producing design documentation using AutoCAD, carrying out site surveys, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess experience with Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of the water industry is a plus, and must hold a full driving license. Qualifications

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of the water/utility industry is desirable.
  • Previous experience using AutoCAD LT 2D is a plus.
  • Awareness of health & safety processes.

Role Overview

Working on the clean water Yorkshire Water AMP8 programme

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Producing design and As-built documentation on AutoCAD
  • Carrying out desktop study requirements
  • Carrying out site / GPS surveys with other designers
  • Obtaining utility drawings and using clients GIS systems
  • Printing and preparing site and completion packages
  • Assisting other designers with their requirements
  • Update lead designer / PD on progress of projects
Compliance & Quality
  • Follow industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure designs meet environmental, health & safety, and statutory obligations.
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation in design processes.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Have some knowledge of water / utility industry (not essential)
  • Previous experience using AutoCAD LT 2D
  • Awareness of Processes and Health & Safety
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Full driving licence (essential)
  • Civil engineering or similar related degree
