Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Berkshire is seeking a Graduate Controls Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will work on automation projects, collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers, and produce technical documentation. Candidates should have a degree or equivalent in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and experience with PLC systems such as Siemens or Allen Bradley. This permanent position offers a salary range of £26,000 to £32,000 per annum.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Overview

Role- Graduate Controls Engineer

Salary- £26,000- £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience, please advise)

Type- Permanent

Location- Berkshire

My client work within engineering and manufacturing and they are looking to take on a Graduate Controls Engineer to develop as part of their team, on a permanent basis, in the Berkshire area.

Responsibilities
  • Working within the existing engineering technical team
  • Being involved in automation projects
  • Working with other Mechanical and Electrical Engineers
  • Working on PLCs, panels, wiring
  • Producing the required technical documentation too
  • Interfacing with customers when required
  • Some travel to customer sites will be involved too
Qualifications
  • Apprenticeship / HNC/ HND / BTEC / City & Guilds / Degree qualification or similar in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Have knowledge or experience of working with PLC systems - Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar
  • Any CAD skills would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, Profibus or similar would be ideal but not essential
  • Have excellent hands-on capabilities too with panel building and wiring
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
