About our Graduate Programme

From an induction week to masterclasses, development days, and bespoke training, we'll help you reach your full potential. We want you to love what you do, learn quickly, broaden your horizons, and make a difference from day one.

About the role

We're looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer with an interest in Water and Wastewater Engineering to join our Design & Construct (D&C) team. Based in Birmingham, this hybrid role (2–3 days in‑office) offers the chance to work on exciting infrastructure projects – from network design to treatment facilities – through all stages of delivery. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team, learning from senior engineers and contributing to projects that meet technical standards, budgets, and deadlines. This role is a September 2026 start.

What a typical day could look like
  • Supporting the design of water and wastewater projects, from outline to detailed design.
  • Assisting with design activities during construction.
  • Gathering and analysing data to inform design decisions.
  • Helping ensure designs meet client and industry standards.
  • Taking on technical tasks that match your growing skills.
  • Participating in site visits, surveys, and inspections.
  • Contributing to feasibility studies and technical reports.
  • Following health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
  • Preparing and reviewing design calculations and documentation.
  • Staying up to date with industry best practices.
About you

We're looking for graduates who are curious, creative, and ready to collaborate to create change and bring fresh perspectives. You'll bring insights from your education and life experiences, and we'll empower you to make a real impact. You should be graduating in 2026 or already graduated from your Civil Engineering Degree. You'll be digitally confident, a clear communicator, and able to collaborate with others while also taking initiative. We value organisation, attention to detail, and a desire to keep learning.

A Civil Engineering degree is required to meet current entry requirements for professional qualifications such as CEng or IEng through ICE or equivalent. This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Visa process. Applicants must therefore have, and maintain, an alternative right to work for the duration of employment.
