Job description
Overview

Here at Blue Skies Education we are working in partnership with a school that offers education provisions to CYPs (children and young people) with SEMH profiles. The CYPs in this provision do not attend mainstream school as they present behaviours that challenge and require additional support and care in their school life that cannot be facilitated in a mainstream setting. Qualifications, skills and relevant experience needed for this role are detailed below.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor, support and inspire children and teenagers with SEMH needs.
  • Contribute to the learning and wellbeing of the CYPs and support positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals as part of a safeguarding-focused team.
Qualifications
  • Ideally a graduate of a psychology, criminology or creative arts-based degree (art, drama, music) as these areas offer value and experience to support different learning platforms and angles with the students.
  • A valid DBS or willingness to apply for one (£62).
  • Proof of right to work.
  • References.
  • Degree-level education.
  • UK residency.
Details
  • Hours: 32 hours per week, day shifts over Mon to Fri (term time only).
  • Start Date: ASAP.
  • End Date: Indefinite; could become permanent.
  • Location: Redbridge.
  • Pay: £14-£15 per hour (PAYE).
Notes

The role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that the successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service. This position may close earlier than the closing date if a suitable candidate is found, so please apply ASAP to avoid disappointment.
