The Graduate Applications Engineer

Looking for a Graduate Applications Engineer who will be a touch‑point for colleagues on mechanical queries and support the external sales team with technical knowledge of tougher projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as a mechanical touch‑point for colleagues (torque, power, speed, inertia, etc.).
• Assist with design tasks in SolidWorks, customer relations, product selection, and pricing.
• Prepare quotes, organise logistics and transport, and chase overdue products from Germany.
• Support sales with product knowledge for industrial gearboxes and geared motors.
• Participate in customer visits and on‑site measurements with the sales team.

The Ideal Person

• Degree, ideally 2:1, in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering (HNC/HND self‑sponsorship considered).
• Strong mechanical understanding of torque, power, speed, inertia.
• Experience with SolidWorks a benefit; if not, must be willing to learn.
• Background in Customer Service, Project Management, Design Engineering, Applications Engineering, or Sales preferred.
• Knowledge of gearboxes, motors, or mechanical power transmission a bonus.
• Extrovert, open‑minded, driven, confident, good sense of humour.
• Willing to relocate.
