Job summary

An environmental consultancy is looking for a Graduate Acoustician to join their Chelmsford team. This position focuses on site-based tasks, including conducting environmental noise surveys and supporting air quality monitoring. Candidates should have a relevant degree (BSc/MSc), good IT literacy, and strong communication skills. Experience in acoustics is beneficial but not necessary. The role requires practical, proactive individuals who can work independently and collaboratively. Competitive salary offered along with hands-on project experience.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Acoustics, Environmental Science or a related field is essential.
  • Good IT skills and communication abilities required.
  • Experience in acoustics or environmental monitoring is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental noise surveys across various sites.
  • Set up and operate noise and vibration monitoring equipment.
  • Support air quality monitoring activities with diffusion tubes and particulate monitors.
  • Perform basic acoustic calculations and contribute to environmental impact assessments.
  • Manage and quality-check field data collected from surveys.
  • Produce supporting material for reports, including logs and notes.
  • Assist senior consultants in project delivery and client requirements.
  • Support project administration, including equipment management.
