The teamleader plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation ofthe reception area. The individual will be responsible for the efficientmanagement and direction of the reception team, ensuring all reception dutiesare performed effectively and to the required standard, meeting the objectivesof the practice.
The idealcandidate will have excellent IT skills, manage patient interactions andmaintain a welcoming and professional environment for all our patients andvisitors. The team leader is responsible for ensuring that all admin tasks arecompleted accurately and in a timely manner, contributing to the overalleffectiveness of the practice, supporting the practice management team increating a positive, collaborative culture within the team, ensuring the teamembraces change and continuous learning and development. There will be otherduties as directed by the practice management team.
Theindividual will also be required to work as part of the core reception team, toprovide a point of contact for patients. To facilitate effective communicationbetween patients and the Primary Care Health team, promoting a positive imageof the practice to its patients and other service users.
Main duties of the job
- Manageand direct staff working as Practice Service Professionals in reception, frontof house and back office.
- Playa key role in the practice management team dealing dynamically with patientenquiries and complaints in the reception area.
- Managing the balance of staff between thevarious reception functions.
- Actas a primary point of contact in reception for clinicians.
- Ensurethat the primary objective of providing excellent levels of patient servicepermeates the whole team.
- Ensurestaffing levels are maintained and provide adequate supervision for receptionstaff and support training.
- Attendtraining courses and participate in educational and learning activities.
- Supportpractice policies and protocols including Health and Safety.
- Completionof staff 1:1s and annual reviews.
- Completionof KPI audits for your team.
- Ongoingsupervision of call monitoring system including producing MI reports.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Good standard of general education and vocational qualifications.
- Knowledge of medical terminology/drug literate, Experience of working within the NHS/Public sector, Experience of SystmOne.
Experience
- Proven track record of managing a team, Strong team player with management or supervisory skills, Ability to deal courteously and efficiently with members of the public and a wide range of professional staff, Genuinely passionate about patient/customer care, Must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach and cope under pressure on a daily basis, Proven experience in challenging and constantly changing working environment, Ability to develop good communication links with staff at all levels and other agencies, Ability to organise and prioritise workload,Excellent IT skills, knowledge of software packages including Microsoft Word/Excel/ Outlook/Teams.
