Job Purpose

The Geozone Product Line Manager for Intervention Services & Drilling Tools (ISDT) will manage and drive product strategy and development for Weatherford's ISDT product line in Aberdeen, UK. This position will align new products with global strategy, customer requirements, and market needs while maintaining and rationalizing the existing product portfolio.

Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Demonstrate safety leadership for all team members and visitors.
  • Maintain highest standards of corporate governance and ethical compliance.
  • Prioritize Quality, Health & Safety, Security and Environmental protection.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HSE practices.

Quality & Operations

  • Actively participate in resolving product line quality issues (PC-1 & PC-2).
  • Oversee operations to ensure service safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support to global teams through WISE platform.
  • Manage product development, profit estimation, and commercialization.
  • Conduct market research to maximize market share and improve operating income.
  • Coordinate new technology introduction with global teams.
  • Support tender preparations and develop strategic partnerships.

Communication & Financial Management

  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Engage external customers to position products and technologies.
  • Present at industry events and conferences.
  • Deliver operational and budgetary objectives.
  • Provide financial justification for product selection.
  • Review capital and inventory requests.

People Development & Leadership

  • Support talent management through performance management processes.
  • Contribute to technical training programs.
  • Ensure operational personnel meet competency standards.
  • Set objectives and drive appraisals.
  • Participate in global product strategy and R&D prioritization.
  • Evaluate market conditions and align strategy accordingly.
  • Collaborate across functional areas (sales, operations, engineering, etc.).
Skills

Required:

  • Must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of the product line and products and an excellent understanding of the product line applications/operations.
  • Broad and strong technical aptitude regarding oilfield products and services with an emphasis on the particular product line.
  • Must possess excellent analytical skills to enable product/process evaluation, with a proven ability to facilitate and deliver product/process improvement.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Proven technical problem-solving ability.
  • General understanding of the global oil industry and awareness of the key operators/technology users.
  • Must be self‑motivated and an effective team manager.
  • Must have good communication/interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have good presentation skills to convey product line information, both internally and externally.
  • Must have good organizational skills and an ability to work to tight and sometimes challenging deadlines.
  • Must be able to make decisions and be able to identify and implement appropriate improvements.
  • Possess an enthusiasm for challenging established practices.
  • Good computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%) as required.

Preferred:

  • Product management experience in an oilfield service company.
  • Commercial experience as a provider of and/or as a customer for oilfield products and services.
  • International experience.
Experience & Education

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record in the development and/or application of new technology
  • Proven track record in international operations and deep‑water developments
  • Extensive experience in a technical, product line, design, applications, or operations role
  • Proven track record in managing international operations of the product line

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree (MBA).
