Geoenvironmental/Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist - Full time, Northants
Excellent opportunity to join a growing consultancy as part of the growing team of geotechnical and environmental engineers based in a beautiful setting in Northamptonshire.
My client is looking for a Geoenvironmental/Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist with at least 2-3 years' experience, to join their growing team.
Main role and duties
- The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and managing ground investigation work across the UK as directed by the Senior Engineers. More specifically you will be:
- Working as a geo-environmental / geotechnical professional with at least 2-3 years experience
- Working both outside and office based throughout the year
- Soil and rock logging to current geotechnical standards, including laboratory scheduling
- Participating in a variety of geotechnical and geo-environmental projects for both external clients and for other teams within JPP
- Writing all types of factual and interpretative Reports (Desk study, ground investigation, earthworks, remediation strategies, CMRAs)
- Site supervision of ground investigations, earthworks and construction activities
- Collating geological/geotechnical data and report writing
- Managing site activities and subcontractors, writing RAMS and liaising with clients
Experience, qualifications and attributes
- Minimum BSc in geology, geography or environmental science related degree
- At least 2-3 years industry experience as a Geo-environmental/geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist / site engineer
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word. Use of holebase and CAD desirable
- Must hold a full clean driving licence.
- Must be prepared to travel UK wide and stay away from home on occasion.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Have good written English skill
- Enjoy working outside as well as in an office environment
