Job description
Generator Engineer

Location: Warmley (Bristol)
Salary: £30,415 - £38,300
Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are looking for a Generator Engineer to join a busy depot team, supporting the preparation, testing, and repair of large generator sets (500 KVA and above). This is mainly depot-based, with occasional travel to customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain and ensure upkeep of large generators in the rental fleet, following manufacturer schedules
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment in the yard
  • Drive forklifts in the yard (training provided if required)
  • Re-book generators into stock
  • Carry out servicing and repairs on customer equipment off-site when needed
  • Participate in engineer on-call rota (currently 1 week in 8, with training)
  • Maintain tidy, safe workspaces and follow Health & Safety standards
Skills & Experience
  • Qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant (City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent)
  • OR relevant experience with generators or large diesel engines
  • Full UK driving licence essential (towing categories preferred)
  • Forklift licence advantageous (training can be provided)
  • Workshop experience advantageous
  • CSCS card preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to meet business needs
