Job Description

This stand‑alone General Sales Manager role is a senior strategic sales appointment and will suit an entrepreneurial leader who can work autonomously whilst shaping long‑term growth. The focus is on identifying and securing medium‑to‑long‑term opportunities within mechanical engineering markets, particularly those involved in hydrogen‑based vehicle applications. While much of the division's success to date has been in the off‑highway sector, the wider scope for innovation is significant.

Role Overview

  • Lead strategic business development initiatives to secure high‑value capital projects
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships within hydrogen technologies, vehicle systems and engineering integration markets
  • Target new customer groups internationally, with freedom to define the growth path
  • Leverage existing success to build out future divisional capabilities
  • Play a central role in establishing the foundation for a larger team – with the expectation this position will evolve rapidly into a senior leadership role
The Successful Applicant

A successful General Sales Manager – Sales should have:

  • Mechanical engineering background – degree qualified
  • Good understanding of hydrogen applications, ideally linked to vehicle or mobile machinery environments is preferred but not essential. Oil & Gas experience will also be an advantage.
  • Proven track record in developing new business within high‑value, capital equipment, system integration or complex subsystems
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and make commercial decisions with strategic foresight
  • Background in O&G, fluid control, rotating equipment, hydraulics, compressors or motors would be an advantage.
  • Comfortable engaging at senior stakeholder level to establish long‑term partnerships
