We are looking for GPs to join The Avenue Surgery, part of Sussex Primary Care. The role offers up to £11,730 per session, per annum, and flexible working hours. It is suitable for newly qualified GPs or experienced practitioners who want to work within a supportive and collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver primary medical services to registered patients, ensuring high standards of care.
• Provide surgery consultations, emergencies, telephone consultations and triage.
• Perform home visits, authorise repeat prescriptions, manage test results and patient paperwork.
• Offer health promotion and advice, signpost patients to appropriate services.
• Develop care plans for health‑related illnesses and record consultation notes using IT systems.
• Prescribe in accordance with locally or nationally agreed formulary.
• Participate in continuing professional development, GP appraisal and re‑validation.
• Engage in clinical governance activities such as audit and quality improvement.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection and NHS policy.

Qualifications

About the Practice

The Avenue Surgery is located in Moulsecoomb, a suburb of Brighton, and serves approximately 6,500 patients. Services include minor surgery, asthma and diabetes clinics, cervical screening, contraception, sexual health, childhood immunisations, smoking cessation, ante‑ and post‑natal care, and a young‑persons sexual health drop‑in clinic for those under 25. The patient demographic includes a higher‑than‑average proportion of young adults, a significant transient student population, and higher income deprivation.
