Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Long Lartin, a category A prison based in the village of South Littleton in Worcestershire. The site is around 10 minutes drive from Evesham and 45 minutes from Birmingham. The role involves end-to-end care with a small inpatient unit, including daily rounds on the wards.

Hours: Tuesday 9am-5pm/8.30am-4pm; Wednesday 9am-5pm/8.30am-4pm; Friday 9am-5pm/8.30am-4pm

Salary

This full-time position offers an annual salary up to £Apply per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients; develop knowledge in areas beyond typical primary care (including A&E environments)
  • Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management
  • Act as a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team on site; contribute to clinical governance and effectiveness activities
Qualifications
  • MBChB or MBBS
  • Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
  • Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
  • Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
  • RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake these qualifications
