Responsibilities

• Ensure all booms are free from wire and material is vented before loading.
• Use the correct amount of wire for the weight of the material when loading.
• Load jigs and booms to their maximum capacity.
• Cut the finished product from the boom using cutters.
• Use a hand grinder to remove any remaining zinc.
• Stack the material for quality checking and dispatch.
• Pack material using a banding machine.
• Identify different customers' products.
• Load booms quickly to enhance throughput.
• Undertake ad-hoc duties as required.

Recruit4staff is proud to be representing their client, a leading manufacturing company in their search for General Operatives to work in their leading facility in Telford.

Offers

• £12.21 per hour for days/afternoons, £12.71 per hour for nights
• Three week rotation shift: Monday–Friday 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM rotating weekly
• Temp‑Perm position
• Full‑time hours
• Training available once permanent with the ability to earn an extra 25p per skill you learn
• Overtime opportunities once permanent

Role – General Operatives

• Ensuring all booms are free from wire and material is vented correctly prior to loading
• Ensuring the correct amount of wire is used for the weight of the material to be hung when loading
• Ensuring all jigs and booms are loaded to their maximum capacity
• Ensure the finished product is cut from the boom using cutters
• Using a hand grinder to remove any zinc that remains on the product
• Stacking the material ready for quality checking and dispatch
• Using a banding machine to pack material
• Identify different customers’ products
• Understand it is necessary to load booms as quickly and efficiently as possible to maximise the throughput of the plant
• Undertake ad‑hoc duties as required
• Undertake any in‑house or off‑site training as and when required

What Our Client Is Looking For

• Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment ‑ ESSENTIAL
• Must have safety shoes
• Must be happy to do manual handling/heavy lifting at times
