Overview

General Manager – Leicester | Permanent / Full time | Salary - Depending on experience

The Company

Our Leicester based clients who work with UK based clients manufacturing and supplying door solutions for the retail and commercial markets are looking for a general manager to join their team in a full time and permanent role.

Reporting to the Production Director, the general manager will be working alongside the Quality Manager, Technical Manager and Procurement and Compliance Manager; they will be tasked with the day to day effective running of a timber door manufacturing facility.

Ideally the successful general manager will be from the industry but if they have the right level of experience in factory management and transferrable skills they will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient running of a 70,000 sq ft manufacturing facility with approximately 70 operatives
  • Reporting to the Production Director
  • To review and improve manufacturing processes and efficiency
  • Working with the Production Director to improve in all areas
  • Recruit supervisors and operatives as required
  • Organising transport for finished goods and site work
  • Ensuring the required level of quality is achieved
  • Making sure the manufacturing team workshop have clear tasks and are accountable to deliver
  • IT literate, office programs and also in house systems for scheduling work

  • Record keeping - compiling and maintaining records and reporting to senior management
  • Communication skills - working with internal teams and other managers
