A brilliant opportunity has arisen to join Aramark UK as General Manager at within our Education & Health sector and accountable for operational management and financial performance of Colchester and Braintree Institute, CO43WA.

In this multi site role, as General Manager, you will be tasked with developing and executing strategy, advocating for your client, encouraging dedication, driving engagement, and delivering positive financial results. The General Manager owns the operations of food service accounts by ensuring areas of responsibility meet objectives and client expectations.

A day in the life of a General Manager
  • Manage and develop site teams including Team Leaders, Chefs, and Team Members through scheduling, performance reviews, and regular briefings
  • Ensure all staff receive appropriate training and foster a culture of learning to support succession planning
  • Control budgets and purchasing, prepare P&L projections, and use systems to meet financial and operational deadlines
  • Support client reviews, retention efforts, and contract negotiations while identifying growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop strategic plans and value propositions that align with business goals
  • Assist with new business mobilisation and HR processes across the region, including grievance and disciplinary procedures
You’ll be set up for success if you have
  • Excellent written, verbal, and numerical skills.
  • Proven management experience in food services or retail
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and confident using bespoke software and generating business reports
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, accountable, and able to coach and inspire teams
  • Customer-focused, approachable, and effective in team management and delegation.
  • Experienced in catering finance, budgeting, forecasting P&L, and preparing client-facing reports
