General Manager – New Opening (City Centre, Birmingham)

Location : Birmingham City Centre

Salary : Circa £50,000 per annum + performance bonus

Hours : Full-time | Approx. 48 hours per week

We are recruiting a General Manager to lead a high-profile restaurant opening in Birmingham city centre, operated by an established group behind Michelin- and AA-accredited venues.

This is a senior leadership role for an experienced hospitality operator who combines strong floor presence with commercial control. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding guest experiences across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while building and leading a high-performing front-of-house team.

The Role
  • Leading front-of-house operations across all services
  • Recruiting, training, and developing a strong FOH management and service team
  • Owning P&L performance, labour planning, budgets, and cost controls
  • Working closely with the Head Chef to deliver seamless service and strong guest feedback
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, licensing, and company standards
  • Driving bookings, repeat business, and guest engagement
  • Acting as the on-site ambassador for the brand and guest experience
About You
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or senior Restaurant Manager in quality-led hospitality
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, margins, and KPIs
  • A confident, visible leader with a natural presence on the floor
  • Highly organised, calm under pressure, and solutions-focused
  • Passionate about service, food, and building great teams
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods
