Job summary

ISS is seeking a Commercial Gas Technician responsible for performing fault finding, repairs, preventative maintenance, and installations focused on commercial gas systems and HVAC. The role requires various commercial and domestic gas qualifications, experience in building services maintenance, and adherence to health and safety guidelines. Qualifications

  • Commercial gas qualifications: COCN1, CODNC1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CORT1, CIGA1.
  • Domestic core gas qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT1, CPA1.
  • Gas Safe Registered and IPAF / PASMA certification.
  • Full UK Driving License required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for commercial combustion, heating, and HVAC-biased Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
  • Accountable for building services maintenance, including fabric, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical tasks.
  • Undertake new installations and carry out major and minor repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant.
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

You’ll be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including fault finding, repairs, preventative maintenance and installations, with a particular focus on commercial gas systems and HVAC-related work.

The core goal of this position is to consistently provide a high-quality, reliable building services maintenance solution that meets world-class standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for commercial combustion, heating, and HVAC-biased Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), as well as proactive and reactive work issued through the helpdesk, completed within set timeframes to exceed customer expectations.
  • Accountable for other building services maintenance, including fabric, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and related tasks.
  • Undertake new installations and carry out major and minor repair work on clients’ gas and heating systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant, including basic electrical fault finding.
  • Ensure equipment and surrounding areas comply with agreed company and industry standards.
  • Deliver a professional service and represent the company to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Provide callout response to clients as per the callout rota.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Role is Commercial Gas so applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • Commercial Gas Qualifications: Commercial Core Safety: COCN1 or CODNC1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CORT1, CIGA1
    AND
  • Domestic Core Gas Qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT1, CPA1,
    AND
  • City & Guilds / NVQ level 2/3 in Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical or related Mechanical engineering discipline. Gas Safe Registered.
  • IPAF / PASMA.
  • Full UK Driving License (Company van provided).
  • Applicants with electrical qualifications will be preferred.

Experience:

  • Significant experience in providing commercial gas, combustion and heating related building services
    maintenance to include fault finding, maintenance and installation.
  • Significant previous experience in providing Reactive/ PPM building services maintenance.
  • Experience of working within FM or building services within commercial properties.
  • Experience of working under strict Health & Safety procedures including risk assessments and method statements.
